Fish Biryani Recipe











Introduction

I think those who don't like biryani are much less. Generally  we use chicken or mutton for making Biryani , but once you try Fish Biryani, soon it will be your favorite. 

Fish Biryani is very easy to make, and less time is enough. Even  non-fish lovers will love it. Generally, big fishes like Kingfish, Shark, Tuna etcare used  for making Biryani.

Now let's go into our recipe

First we'll fry the fish with spices . Then we'll prepare the Biryani gravy and put the half boiled Rice and fish on top of it and keep it for dum.


Ingredients

1) For Marinating the Fish  (3/4 kg)

  • Ginger garlic paste       :  2     Tspn
  • Red chilli powder         :  3     Tspn
  • Turmeric powder          :  1/2  Tspn
  • Oil                                 :   2    Tspn
  • Lemon juice                  :   1    Tspn

  • Salt                                : As per taste
Season the fishes with the above spices and fry it after 30 min.



2) For Gravy     

  • Onion                             :  4 (Medium)

  • Tomato                           :    2 (Medium)
  • Ginger Garlic paste        :    3 Tspn
  • Green chilli                    :    2
  • Mint                               :    Some
  • Curd                               :   1 cup (200 g )
  • Turmeric powder           :    1 Tspn
  • Kashmiri chilli powder  :    2 to 3 Tspn  
  • Cinnamon                      :    A small stick
  • Cloves                            :    5
  • Cardamom                     :    4
  • Bay leaves                     :    1
  • Pepper                            :   1 Tspn

  •  Salt                                :   as per taste                                 


3) For The Rice
  • Basmati Rice                  :      1/2 Kg
  • Cinnamon                       :      a small stick
  • Cloves                            :       4  
  • Cardamom                      :       3
  • Bay leaves                      :        1
  • Water                              :       As required

4) For Garnishing

Coriander leaves                    : Some


Instructions

Procedure to making gravy

1. Heat the vessel and add 6 tspn of oil .

2. Add the spices cinnamon ,cloves, cardamom, bay leaves and pepper.

3. Add the sliced onions to it and saute it till it becomes translucent.

4.Then add ginger garlic paste to it and saute it till it's raw smell goes out.

5. Add sliced tomatoes to it and saute ,till it becomes mashy.

6. Now add turmeric powder  and red chilli powder and saute well.

7. Add curd to it and saute well.

8.Add required salt to it, close the lid and cook it for 10  to 15 min.


Procedure for cooking Rice

1. Boil enough water to cook rice and add salt along with spices.



Procedure for fish frying

1.Seasoning the spices to the fish.

2.Marinate for 30 min.

3.Heat the pan and add required oil and fry both the sides.



Procedure for Dum

1. Place a heavy bottomed pan and keep the flame simmer.

2. Place the biryani vessel on it.

3. Layer the vessel first with gravy

4.Then place the fried fish on it.

5.Then add cooked rice on it.

6.Now spread Ghee and fish fried oil on it.

7. Dum it for 20 min on simmer.


Last Procedure

1.Open the lid and mix it slowly.

2.Garnish it with some coriander leaves .
