Maravallikizhangu (kappa )


 Introduction

Tapioca is rich in carbs and contains high calories. Today it is the traditional Kerala recipe Kappa curry .It is a very tasty recipe and with fish curry it goes awesome.

Let's go into our recipe

Ingredients

Tapioca                      - 500 g

For masala

Coconut                      - 5 Tspn

Shallots                      - 4 nos

Garlic                         - 2 nos

Cumin seeds                - 1 Tspn

Red chilli                    - 2

Turmeric powder         - 1/4 Tspn

Salt                            - As Per taste

For seasoning

Coconut oil                  - 2 Tspn

Mustard seeds             - 1 tspn

Curry leaves                - some

Red chilli                    - 2

Procedure

1) Cut the Tapioca into medium pieces and wash it thoroughly.



2) Cook the Tapioca in a pressure cooker along with salt ( 4 or 5 whistles required ).


3)Take all the ingredients of masala and make it into a coarse paste.



4)Mash the cooked Tapioca.

5)Add the coconut paste into the mashed Tapioca and mix it thoroughly.



6)Heat a broad kadai and add some oil to it and add mustard seed to it.

7)When the mustard seeds are spluttered ,add chopped shallotes ,red chilli and some curry leaves and saute for a while.


8)Add the mashed tapioca to it and mix it thoroughly.


9)Cook it for 3 to 4 min on medium flame.

  That,s it our Delicious " kappa " is Ready.
